Cultural relativism has a strong appeal for my sense of justice. But I could never entirely get past a gut-instinct some things are just wrong even if culturally condoned.
Hence the grandmother rule I would use on panels at cons. Sure, we should make allowances for champions killing their opponents in a sanctioned match, among Sevolites, under Sword Law in the Okal Rel universe. But there's got to be some acid test for drawing the line.
